DRILLING ENGINEER

Requirements:

Degree in mechanical, chemical and other related engineering disciplines, expertise in drilling procedures and techniques, and minimum 10 years experience in the position.

Functions:

Supervises drilling operations and personnel; advises on drilling systems procedures; responsible for planning and cost estimation; coordinates with exploration and producing departments concerning newer and more advanced drilling techniques and estimates their application to current objectives and problems; identifies potential problems and recommends adequate solutions; participates in sophisticated research and development projects; conducts seminars and train engineers in this specific field; and audits aspects of operations to recommend actions and changes when necessary.

DRILLER

Requirements:

Technical and mechanical background with extensive experience in mechanic systems, hydraulic equipment, etc; expertise in drilling fluids and the different drilling systems; previous safety training process, FLSBO (First Line Supervisor Blownout Prevention) and any other related courses are recommended; and at least 3 years experience in similar or subordinate position on a drilling platform or installation.

Functions:

Driller has a high level of responsibility and is the person in charge of the drilling operations on the installation. Supervises the drilling personnel and organizes their tasks, operates drilling equipment, monitors and controls indicators and gauges of temperature, pressure, condition of the systems, etc; records data for the engineers; and runs safety meetings and drills designated to avoid any possible problem or accident on board.

Income:

Around 65,000 dollars a year.

ASSISTANT DRILLER

Requirements:

Technical and mechanical background with extensive experience in mechanic systems, hydraulic equipment, etc; expertise in drilling fluids and the different drilling systems; previous safety training process; and some previous experience in similar or subordinate position on a drilling platform or installation.

Functions:

He is charge of the drilling installation when the driller is off or temporary absented. DERRICKMAN

Requirements:

Technical and mechanical knowledge, and previous experience in the field.

Functions:

Responsible for the derrick platform, which is specially designed to perform certain parts of the drilling process, such as the lowering and elevation of the casing, drill pipes and collars when they are being connected and disconnected; inspects the derrick and maintains the equipment in good condition and functioning, and prepares the appropriate reports. Requirements:
